Tellurian Issue 1: Life on Land

Milan, Italy

2023

Tellurian is a concept biannual investigative publication and an insight into the evolution of the human condition with a focus on innovation and design. The aim is to provide the readers with a deeper understanding of the human experience by exploring the past, present, and future of humanity through the lenses of innovation, design, and architecture. The first issue of Tellurian is inspired by the United Nations Goals for 2024 and delves into the fascinating topic of Life on Land, exploring  architecture, human inhabitation and its impact on our planet as well as further land explorations to extend the human civilisation.

The use of semi transparent 60gr paper weight is a conscious and curated choice to reflect the idea of the past, present and future where the layout is specifically designed to play with the overlay of imagey and text. The primary typeface of the magazine is Signifier by Klim Foundry and is a Brutalist response to 17th century typefaces just as is the art direction of the magazine inspired by classic book design with a modern edge.
